It's not because I'm in my 40's, but hearing teens sing is something that evokes the worst nightmares in me (just remember the worst band ever, Hanson, and you get my point).
But luckily for me and you, First Aid Kit, are something totally different even if one of the sisters is only 16 years old.
It all started on You Tube by covering a song by Fleet Foxes and it ended up in them being the hope of indiefolk.
"The big black and the blue" is the first album by the sisters Johanna and Klara Soderberg and from the early start, it's like you're entering some mysterious fairy tale in where their ethereal voices are the guiding lights.
The music is very minimal but it never sounds sober though, they obtain that kind of voice that grabs your attention from the first to the last second, which is for me not that logical for a folkrecord.
With having their release on Wichita Records, automatically all spotlights are aimed at them and a new hype is in the make but it'd be a real tragedy if such music would be unheard.
One day probably be as big as Sigur Ros, but deserved nontheless.
